The Rigger Engineering liner hanger is an improved version of the liner hanger originally developed by the Burns Tool Company and Union Oil of California in the 1930’s. Burns was eventually bought by Lynes Packers, a subsidiary of Baker Oil Tools. It became the Baker Simplex, a mainstay of the Baker product line for the next 10 years. Rigger was founded by Alan Stevenson, an ex-employee of both Burns and Baker, and has been manufacturing and improving the design since 1978.
