Rigger Engineering was incorporated in the fall of 1978, and has been providing the oil industry with a line of quality down hole drilling equipment for 30 years. But our expertise in this area starts well before 1978.
Alan Stevenson
Founder & CEO
Mr. Stevenson joined the Engineering team at the Burns Oil Tool Company in 1962. During his fifteen-year career with the company, Alan eventually rose to the position of plant manager. Overseeing the entire operation, Alan co-developed many new tools and upgraded older tool designs to meet the needs of an evolving industry. Burns developed the basic liner hanger design employed by Rigger today as part of a joint project with Union Oil of California (now UNOCAL). In 1977, Baker Hughes bought the Burns Tool Company. The Burns liner hanger was added to the Baker line, renamed the Baker Simplex, and was Baker’s primary liner hanger for the next ten years. Mr. Stevenson subsequently founded Rigger Engineering, where he continues to be an integral component in the manufacture and development of new products to this day.
