Lead Seal Liner Hanger w/ Hold Down Slips
The RIGGER ENGINEERING lead seal hanger with hold down slips is common as production liners tend to be on the light side. Hold down slips are recommended for any liner less than 30,000 pounds total weight. The hold down slips are set when the lead seal is set. As with the plain hanger they are in opposition to the regular slips and effectively lock the hanger in place so it cannot move up or down the well. Other types of seals can be substituted for lead. Neoprene rubber and EPDM rubber are common. Viton or aflast are other types of high temperature rubber seals with different properties but also tend to be expensive alternatives. All of these seals have pressure ratings of about 3,000 psi.
