Hydraulic Setting Collar
The RIGGER ENGINEERING hydraulic setting collar is used in conjunction with the hydraulic setting tool. The collar is installed near the bottom of the liner string. Once the liner is lowered to the desired depth a ball is pumped down the drill pipe. It passes through the setting tool and travels down the liner where it lands in the setting collar. As the liner is pressurized brass screws in the hydraulic cylinder, located in the releasing assembly, shear out and allow the cylinder to raise up, releasing the slips and hanging the liner. Additional pressure causes shear pins in the collar to shear. This, in turn, allows the ball seat to drop down and reestablish circulation. All parts of the collar are of drillable materials and once the liner has been cemented in place the internal parts of the collar can be drilled out.
